With 100/150 capacity Sugaroom can cater for all styles of events from intimate to extravagant, canapé or formal sit down. Sugaroom offers additional event and theming options and will endeavour to work with your requirements to make your special day memorable.
Sit down options (alternate or choice)
Sugaroom offers a selection of set menus available to all wedding reception bookings up to 50 guests. Select your favourite three dishes from our functions menu for each of the desired courses and we will provide your guests with personalised menus to select their choices on the day. Additional side dishes, tea, coffee and petit fours are available on request.
Sit down menu packages (alternate selections or choice) are also available for groups of over 50 and exclusive venue hire events. Choose your favourite two dishes from our functions menu to be alternately served or if you would prefer a choice, select your favourite three dishes from our functions menu and we will provide your guests with personalised menus to select their choices on the day. In addition choose between your choice of side dishes to be served with your meals or tea and coffee to be served after dessert.
For those looking for a slightly less formal experience Sugaroom has cocktail and canapé options to suit a variety of budgets and event requirements. Choose a selection of canapés from our cold, hot or sweet canapé selections. Sugaroom’s canapé service is based on an average of two of each canapé per person. For guests looking to take the worry out of having sufficient food we also offer substantial canapés priced per piece. Individual requirements and suggestions can be discussed with your functions manager to ensure you find the package most suitable for you.
Sugaroom is delighted to offer cocktails on arrival for the first hour of your event at a special introductory rate. Choose between long, short or champagne style cocktails to enjoy on our deck and lounge area.
The wine list reflects the menus diverse influences and embraces both regional favourites and fresh trends of the new world, resulting in an approachable, affordable selection. Sugaroom offers beverages on “consumption” or as a package. We invite our guests to “create your own” beverage package. This option enables you to be in control of the grape variety, region, and most importantly your preferred price range. Alternatively we are happy to take the stress of decisions away and create a beverage package for you. Sugaroom has wine and beers to cater for all tastes and budgets, and are happy to recommend or match wines according to your menu selections. Sugaroom offers a premium beverage package with a selection of grape varieties and styles of beers available. Spirit selections are not included in our package price, but can be served “on consumption”, or can be included at an additional cost per person. All beverages are served by full waiter service.
Sugaroom is permitted to have live acoustic entertainment inside the restaurant or on the outside deck and is happy to recommend appropriate bands or classical ensembles and will coordinate with your preferred artists in the lead up to your event. Sugaroom can provide in house entertainment which is a popular and less costly option. Our stereo system houses an ipod dock, enabling you to utilise our own easy listening lounge and dance collections or provide your own personalised playlists.
AV facilities and equipment hire
Sugaroom has wireless microphones available for speeches and has preferred suppliers for any additional AV equipment requirements.
Sugaroom provides our guests with fully dressed tables with cloths, cutlery, glassware and linen napkins. Our chairs are made of the finest Italian walnut and are presented in a way that further dressing is not necessary. We provide tea lights and candles for the dining tables and giant lanterns in our bar and lounge area and mantle pieces. Feel free to utilise our black board to create a special message or simply use as your picture perfect guest book. We are happy to advise onthemingideas from past or current events, are able to suggest preferred suppliers and favourite theming options, or take advantage of “Our Complete Wedding Package". If you are using Sugaroom as an exclusive use event, consider that we are giving you our venue for the evening. Tell us your preferences for set up or service. We will do our upmost to accommodate any request.

Outdoor and less traditional ceremonies are becoming a popular choice for couples looking for a more unique setting to share their vows. The newly created Pirrama Park provides the ideal location and harbour side back drop. Information on booking your ceremony in the park can be found at www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au or complete the wedding ceremony request form. Sugaroom has the facilities to accommodate a simple civil ceremony on the shaded outside deck and is a great wet weather alternative to those looking for the outdoor setting.
Sugaroom offers cakes in “Our Complete Wedding Package” or are happy to accommodate BYO cakes with no additional charge. Sugaroom will provide a cake table and silver knife for presentation and photos, and cut the cake into petit four slices to serve with tea and coffee after dessert. We also cater for individual slices served with berries and ice cream with a small supplementary charge if you would prefer to have your cake instead of dessert.
Order of events and table plan
To ensure a seamless flow to your event, Sugaroom provides personalised table plans and suggested order of events to suit your individual preferences. Feel free to alter the timing or discuss additional options with your functions manager. We will also display a fully presented guest list and table plan on the day of your event.
Sugaroom is open for lunch functions from 12.00 noon until 4.00pm and for dinner from 6.00pm until 11pm. Times can be altered to suit your specific requirements or to accommodate ceremony options.
Transport & Parking
Sugaroom is accessible by various means of public and private transport. From the city, jump on a Bus from Town Hall to Pyrmont, or take a Light Rail from Central Station or the Inner West. Both stop with 200 metres of the restaurant and have frequent services throughout the week. Alternatively arrive in style by Water Taxi or charter cruise. Sugaroom has several jetty locations adjacent to the restaurant for boat drop off and pick up. Wow your guests, and take in the amazing sights on Sydney harbour prior to your special event or simply disappear into the moonlight with your loved one at the end of your special day. On street (metered) parking is available around the adjacent Pirrama Park and residential streets. The nearest parking stations are both within 5 minutes walk opposite Jones Bay Wharf across Pirrama Park, or up Harris St to the Star City Casino parking station.
